‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ organised in Sindh’s educational institutions

SUKKUR: Rallies were taken out from various educational institutions in Sindh to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Kashmir’s causehere on Tuedsay.

Reports said a huge rally was taken out from the Sindh University, Jamshoro, to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and their freedom struggle against Indian violence in held Valley. The rally was taken out under the VC SU, Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat along with academics and administrative employees and students. While talking to the participants of the rally, Dr Burfat said the Kashmir situation was getting worse day by day, especially the human rights violations, denial of fundamental rights to Kashmiris. He said held-Kashmir would soon become a part of Pakistan and its people would spend their lives in peace and harmony.

Meanwhile, on the directives of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed at the Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. The event had also discussion panel in collaboration with Institute of International Relations, Department of Media and Communication Studies, and Department of Pakistan Studies. The Pro-Vice Chancellor and Meritorious Professor Dr Muhammad Yousuf Khushk presided over the event.

Talking to the participants, Dr Yousuf Khushk shed light on the genesis of Kashmir issue, saying that Kashmiris had legitimate and legal right to demand their rights to self determination. He appreciated the role of Prime Minister Imran Khan for highlighting the Kashmir issue at United Nations’ General Assembly boldly and forcefully. He also condemned Indian brutalities and Modi’s policy to promote Hindu chauvinism not only in held-Kashmir but all over India.

Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Imdad Hussain Sahito strongly condemned the Indian atrocities continuing for more than six months as the people of Kashmir were facing serious hardships in prevailing lockdown of the Valley. Director Media and Public Relations, Prof Dr Taj Muhammad Lashari stressed upon the international media, Amnesty International and other human rights advocacy forums to play their due role in resolution of the Kashmir issue. He said the right of self determination was a fundamental right of Kashmiri people, adding that Pakistan has played a dynamic role for the resolution of Kashmir issue and would keep it up.
