Kabaddi WC schedule released
LAHORE: Sports Board Punjab has released the match schedule of upcoming Kabaddi World Cup 2020 on Tuesday. Overall 24 matches will be played during the mega event.
As many as 14 matches of Kabaddi World Cup 2020 will be played at Punjab Stadium in Lahore, eight matches at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad and two matches at Zahoor Elahi Stadium in Gujrat from February 9 to 16, 2020. The grand closing ceremony will be held at 8.00pm on Feb 16, 2020 at Punjab Stadium.
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti presided over a high profile meeting to review the arrangements of upcoming Kabaddi World Cup 2020 at Punjab International Swimming Pool Complex on Tuesday.
DG Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh, Commissioner Lahore Saif Anjum, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Danish Afzal, DIG Operation Lahore Rai Babar, Director Operation Elite Force Saad Saleem, Director Admin Javed Chohan, Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti and other top officials also attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said all the arrangements of Kabaddi World Cup 2020 have been completed.
“The grounds in all three venues are ready to host the exciting matches of Kabaddi World Cup 2020. The participation of world’s ten best kabaddi teams including arch-rival India reflected that the security situation in the country has improved a lot,” he added.
Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti informed that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is likely to be the chief guest at the opening ceremony of Kabaddi World Cup. “Prime Minister Imran Khan has also been invited at the closing ceremony at the same venue on Feb 16, 2020”.
Briefing the meeting, DG Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said best facilities will be provided to all guest teams during Kabaddi World Cup. “There will be great festive atmosphere during Kabaddi World Cup and Punjab people must throng the match venues to witness thrilling matches,” he added.
