Ineffectual solidarity

Every year on February 5, Kashmir Day is observed to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir. As we well know, the Indian tyranny over Kashmir has scaled new heights in the last six months. The Indian government has effectively turned Kashmir into the world’s biggest open-air prison. Unfortunately, world leaders have done nothing in the way of taking action against the Indian government for its imperialist behaviour. The Muslim world should boycott and sever all diplomatic ties with India.

While today we may mourn with the people of Kashmir, by tomorrow we will in all likelihood forget their predicament. We have to do more than just show solidarity once a year if we want to actually empower the Kashmiris. This is the time to do something otherwise it will be too late to redress this injustice.
