NOWSHERA: Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak said on Monday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government under Prime Minister Imran Khan was taking steps to attract foreign investment to the country.
Addressing a meeting of the Insaf Lawyers Forum as chief guest here, he said Pakistan was emerging as a leading and dignified country in the comity of nations due to the effective strategy of the prime minister. The defence minister added the economic crisis would soon end and prosperity return to the country. “The PTI government is sincerely working to provide relief to the people and the prime minister has launched various schemes to mitigate the sufferings of the poor,” he maintained.
Pervez Khattak believed the government had inherited a poor economy from the previous government and it would take time to put the country on the right track. The defence minister said that the wealthy people evaded taxes, adding the economy could not be improved if taxes were not paid. He added that the government was taking measures to check money-laundering and end corruption.
