Govt to honour pledges made with allies, says Pervez Khattak

NOWSHERA: Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak said on Sunday that Prime Minister Imran Khan had issued instructions to honour the pledges made with the allies.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a natural gas and road projects here, Pervez Khattak, who is also government’s negotiation committee head, said that a meeting had been convened to remove the reservations of the government’s allies.

The defence minister said that the government was trying to sort out issues with the coalition partners through talks. He said that the negotiations held so far with the allies had been very successful.

Khattak added that the government would accept the genuine demands of the allies. He maintained that they were in contact with the leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Balochistan National Party Mengal Group, Grand Democratic Alliance.

He clarified that a new committee had been formed that would hold its meeting on coming Thursday. He said that the government would take along its allies.

The minister said that the government would consider the suggestions of the opposition parties regarding amendments to various laws. He said that Pakistan would soon be removed from the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force.

He added that Prime Minister Imran Khan was working hard to make Pakistan an Asian tiger. He said that the government was focusing to improve the economy.
