KARACHI: Aqib and his partner Hasheesh Kumar clinched the title of juniors 18 doubles at the 5th McDonald’s National Tennis Championships at D.A Creek Club here on Sunday.
In the final, Aqib and Hasheesh defeated Abdul Hamid and Mahatir 6-4, 6-1.
Meanwhile, the pair of Hamza and Ahtisham beat the duo of Nail and Nadir 4-2, 5-3 in the final of under-12 doubles to claim the title.
In other matches, Nael Mirza thrashed Hamza Tahir 4-1, 4-1 in the semi-final of under-10 singles. In the semi-final of under-12 singles, Nadir Mirza won against Ahtisham Humiyun 5-3, 4-2. In the seniors 35 singles semis, Nomi Qamer beat Reza Ali Mirza 6-3 (retired).
