CHAKWAL: Senate’s Defence Production Committee Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum has said that Pakistan will become a prosperous country after completion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He said this while talking to journalists at the Chakwal Press Club here on Saturday. Abdul Qayyum said that the Indian forces had started unprovoked firing due to fear of completion of the Pak-China Economic Corridor. He said that despite of facing all problems power loadshedding would end in the next two years. Later, Abdul Qayyum attended the Shuhadae District Chakwal Conference held in connection with the Defence Day at the Hyd Park. Let-Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum, Prof Muhammad Hanif, Subedar Afzal Aziz, Cap Maqbool Hussain, Khawaja Babar Saleem Mehmood, Col Muhammad Ikhlaq, Dr Azhar Awan, Maulana Mehmoodul Hassan Ghazanfar, Raja Mujahid Afsar, Malik Falk Sher Awan, Haji Abdul Razzaq Jami and Raja Zameer addressed the participants. A resolution was also passed in which it was demanded that a college and a hospital must be established by the Fuji Foundation to acknowledge the sacrifices of brave soldiers and officers who laid their lives to protect the motherland. Later, a rally was also taken out which was led by Lt-Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum in support of the Pak Army. The biggest award of the Chakwal district ‘Dhan 84’ was awarded to Prof Raheel Danish to acknowledge his educational achievements.
