New sector safety patrolling plan devised in Islamabad
Islamabad:Islamabad Police have devised new sector safety patrolling plan to ensure effective security in the Capital and more than 30 vehicles would patrol in each street of sector.
The plan was formally finalized in a meeting presided over by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar and was also attended among others by DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed, SSP (Traffic), AIG (Operations), SP (Investigation), SP (Special Branch), Zonal SPs and DSP (Legal). It was decided in the meeting that this plan would be launched with immediate effect.
The IGP said that purpose of this patrolling plan is to eradicate crime from the city and ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens.
The IGP directed DIG (Operations) that officers/officials with posting period of more than six months in a zone should be transferred to other zones and poor performers should be transferred to security division.
He reiterated that, all Zonal SPs will hold `Open Kutcheries’ in their respective areas on weekly basis and elected representative of the area (Member National Assembly) would be formally invited at these Kutcheries.
He asked DIG (Operations) to distribute a form at all police stations and entire biodata of those visiting at police stations should be inserted in it.
Islamabad Police Chief said that relevant SP or SDPO would contact the complainant on phone and to inquire him about attitude of investigation officer and whether his issue has been resolved or not. The police official would visit the complainant keeping in view the seriousness of the issue.
Aamir Zulfiqar directed Zonal SPs to ensure 12 body cameras in each zone which will be distributed among officials at pickets and duty officers. He directed effective steps to check theft activities at home and lifting of vehicles.
The IGP said that crackdown against drug pushers should remain continue and special lectures to be arranged at educational institutions to aware students about this menace. He said that SP (ATS), DSP (CTD) would conduct inspection of registers of police stations and to submit report with him about it.
He directed SSP (Traffic) for effective action against those not wearing seatbelts and involved in violation of traffic rules especially those using mobile phones while driving.
He said that body cams to be placed at uniforms of all traffic officials and record of their conversation with citizens to be maintained.
The IGP Islamabad directed to suspend Inspector Aslam Kaliar of Homicide Unit and initiate inquiry against him over receiving corruption related complaint against him. He said corruption would be not tolerated and police officials would be shown door having involvement in such practices.
