PHF chief calls on Alvi

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi Wednesday assured his backing to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) in its efforts to hold the first professional league in October this year.
President Alvi expressed these views during a meeting with PHF chief Brig (r) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, who called on him at presidency.
“I am grateful to the president for showing support for the game of hockey. We are planning to hold first Professional Hockey League in October this year and sought all-out support from the government. The president has assured full backing, saying that the PHF efforts would be fully backed,” Khokhar, when contacted, said. The PHF president also revealed that President Alvi wanted revival of hockey in the country.
