ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi assured his support and backing to Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) in their efforts to hold the first ever professional league in October this year.
Dr Arif Alvi was expressing these views during a meeting with PHF president Brig (rtd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar who called on him at presidency Wednesday.
“I am grateful to the president for showing support and backing for the national game hockey. W e are planning to hold the first ever Professional Hockey League in October this year and wanted support and backing from the government. President of Pakistan has assured all support and backing saying PHF efforts would be fully supported,” Brig (rtd) Khokhar when contacted said.
The PHF president also revealed that President wanted revival of hockey in the country. “President wants PHF to generate hockey activities and for that offered all assistance and government support.
