KARACHI: All seeded players moved into the second round of men’s singles at the 33rd Federal Cup National Ranking Tennis Championships in Islamabad on Wednesday.
In the first round, Aqeel Khan thrashed Ejaz Ahmed 6-2, 6-2, M Shoaib smashed M Abdullah 6-1, 6-0, while Mudassar Murtaza beat Jibar Ali 6-0, 6-1.
Results: Men’s singles: Aqeel Khan bt Ejaz Ahmed 6-2, 6-2; M Shoaib bt M Abdullah 6-1, 6-0; Mudassar Murtaza bt Jibar Ali 6-0, 6-1; Ibrahim Omer bt Ayyaz Khan 6-1, 6-1; M Abid bt Asad Siyyed 6-1, 6-2; Israr Gul bt Ahmad Asjad 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-4; Heera Ashiq bt Mian Balil 6-1, 6-0; Kamran Khan bt Irfanullah Khan 6-4, 6-4; Muzammil Murtaza bt Subhan Bin Salik 6-2, 6-0; Huzaifa Abdur Rehman bt Emaduddin Ahmed 6-0, 6-1; Shahzad Khan bt Shahid Afridi 6-3, 6-1; Ahmed Ch. got walkover against Ahmed Kamil; Men’s doubles (pro set match): Kamran Khan and M Abdullah got walkover against Subhan Bin Salik and Ayyaz Khan; Mian Bilal and Imran Bhatti bt Jibran-ul-Haq and Usman Ejaz 9-7; M Shoaib and Huzaifa A Rehman bt Shahid Afridi and Shakirullah 9-5; Asadullah and Ejaz Ahmed got walkover against Ibrahim Omer and Ahmed Kamil.
