Islamabad : The government of Palestine Tuesday presented two Mobile Health Units for Pakistanis who do not have easy access to healthcare services by virtue of their geographical location.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza received the Mobile Health Units as a gift from the people and government of Palestine at a ceremony attended by Palestine’s Ambassador to Pakistan and Secretary Health Dr. Allah Bakhsh Malik. The event was held at the Embassy of Palestine.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Zafar appreciated the value of the gift in the context of the crying need for health services in areas that are remotely located, with practically no health facilities in close proximity.
“Our health infrastructure does not reach many places. As such, I am deeply touched by the thought behind this gift from the Palestinian Ambassador. Let me assure you that we will make best use of it,” Dr. Zafar briefly stated. The Mobile Health Units are equipped with two beds each.
Dr. Zafar also appreciated the Palestinian government’s support to Pakistan in all its struggles, including Kashmir, and assured that Pakistan will continue to raise voice in favour of the Palestinian cause. “We will be working closely in many areas of interest to our mutual benefit,” he concluded.
