SUKKUR: Agitated and deeply frustrated local PPP leaders and workers of district Qamber-Shahdadkot complained to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to help them in overcoming the acute shortage of irrigation water, which has seriously damaged the rice crop, causing major reduction in the crop’s yield by as much as 40-45 per cent.
They also asked the chairman to reorganise the party as it is suffering due to internal conflicts. They also complained to him of being ignored in the development schemes by MPs as well as the ministers.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was chairing a meeting of the Executive Body of the Qamber-Shahdadkot at the Naudero House in Larkana. It was also attended by MPA Faryal Talpur and other elected MNAs and MPA from the Qambher-Shahdadkot.
According to party insiders, the local party leadership sought his help to address the bad law and order situation in Qubo Saeed Khan.They also complained about non-cooperation of the administration with the elected representatives of local bodies.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, according to sources, assured them of taking up their grievances with the chief minister. He also directed Irrigation Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal to visit the district and resolve the shortage of irrigation water problems immediately.
He also directed the members of the Executive Committee of the District Qamber-Shahdadkot to interact with the party workers on a regular basis and address their problems. The PPP chairman said he had decided to hold regular meetings at the Naudero House with the executive members of each district of Sindh to reorganize the party.
