FAISALABAD: Five people sustained injuries in different roof collapse incidents in different parts of Faisalabad during the last 24 hours.
According to police, roofs of old and dilapidated buildings caved in due to rains in Jaranwala near Sabzi Mandi and on Narwala Road near Adda Chakera, leaving Furqan, Ghulam-e-Makkah, Adnan, Muhammad Riaz and Muhammad Yunus injured.
facilities for travellers at bus stations: Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Zameer Hussain Tuesday directed the managers of bus stations to provide necessary facilities to travellers and commuters.He visited various bus stations in the city and expressed his displeasure over poor cleanliness conditions.
The secretary said the government had launched ‘'Clean & Green’' programme across the country and under the programme all necessary measures should be taken by bus station managers to make the sanitary conditions upto the mark. He said neat and clean environment was imperative for the protection of health of general public, especially those who were visiting the bus stations and travel through public transport.
The secretary also visited waiting areas of the stations and directed the authorities concerned to ensure availability of potable water for travellers and commuters round-the-clock. In this connection, no negligence would be tolerated at any cost, he warned. He also directed the managers to plant maximum saplings of plants in and around their stations.
29 outlaws held during search operation: Police Tuesday arrested 29 outlaws and recovered illegal weapons from them during the last 24 hours. According to a police spokesman, Sahianwala police during a search operation arrested 13 accused and recovered two Kalashnikovs, two rifles, two guns, four pump-action shotguns and pistols from them. Sadr police nabbed nine accused and recovered two rifles, four shotguns, four pistols from them. Thikriwala police detained seven accused and recovered 2 Kalashnikovs, two rifles and two shotguns from them.
Fesco issues shutdown programme: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) Tuesday issued shutdown programme for Wednesday (today) for necessary repair, maintenance and expansion of electricity lines.

Similarly, electricity supply from Crescent Board, Millat Road, Millat Town, Dry Port, Sandal and Mughal Pura feeders originating from 132-KV Chiniot Road grid station, 500-KV Gatti feeder emanating from 132-KV Nishatabad grid station will remain suspended from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, whereas Bhaiwala feeder originating from 132-KV Nishatabad grid station will observe loadshedding from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.
