‘Govt striving for resolving problems of business sector’

FAISALABAD: Commissioner Ishrat Ali has said that the government is paying special attention to provide equal opportunities to all business segments to redress their problems.

He said this during his visit to the office of Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association here on Tuesday. The commissioner met with Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association chairman Mian Naeem Ahmad, former chairman Khawaja Amjad, former vice chairman Mian Kashif Zia, Mian Ahmed, Mian Khalid Pervaiz, Mian Imran Latif, Mian Omar, Rana Aslam, Shaheen Tabbasum, Khawaja Ahmed and other members were also present.

The chairman welcomed the commissioner and lauded the ongoing development in the division under his leadership. He informed about the traffic problems in Jinnah Colony and said that effective measures were required in this regard. He also identified some issues relating to the Environment Department and said that the export field had always played an important role in development of the country. The commissioner said that export had a key role in the domestic economy and exporters had a very good reputation in this sector. He said that better traffic management would be made to solve the traffic problems in Jinnah Colony while measures would also be taken to resolve the environment-related issues of the exporters. Mian Naeem Ahmad thanked Commissioner Ishrat Ali for assuring full cooperation in resolving their problems.

OPEN COURT: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali and CPO Sohail Ch on Tuesday jointly held an open court at Pansra.

The DC listened to the public complaints and directed the concerned departments for early solutions to the public issues. Talking to the applicants, the DC said that weekly open court was being held to listen to the people’s complaints directly besides following the open door policy of the Punjab government. He said that provision of every possible relief to the public was the mission of the district administration and public service departments had been mobilised in this regard. He assured that genuine complaints of the citizens would not be left behind without prompt disposal. He told that regular monitoring was being carried out of the departmental measures on public applications. He said that the concerned officers had been directed to take the public complaints very seriously and every possible remedy should be provided to the complainants as per their satisfaction. The CPO said that a number of measures had been taken to control the crimes in Faisalabad district and police officers had been directed to remain available for the public in the police stations. He said that negligence of any police officer would not be tolerated and the justice would be provided to the aggrieved persons at all cost. He issued orders to police officers for completing investigation of the cases on purely merit basis without any pressure.

74 criminals held with weapons: Police on Tuesday arrested 74 notorious criminals, including 22 proclaimed offenders, wanted in murder, dacoity and highway robbery cases.

According to Amir Waheed, spokesman for the CPO, the police parties recovered 12 pistols, four Kalashnikovs, two rifles, five guns and 227 litres liquor from their possession. He told that Masoorabad police conducted raids in Malikpur and Mananwala areas and nabbed seven people for making kites. The police also recovered 60,000 kites and string roles from their possession, he added.
