Two cops injured in ambush on Khairpur

SUKKUR: Two policemen got injured in a firing incident when criminals ambushed the police near the village Aitbar Jatoi in Khairpur. Sources said the Agra Police Khairpur were moving towards the village Aitbar Jatoi to arrest some criminals on a tip-off. When they reached near the place, the criminals ambushed them and opened fire, in which two policemen Barkat Ujjan and Jaweed Lashari got injured. They said the criminals later managed to escape from the scene.
Later, heavy police contingents reached Aitbar Jatoi village, and they took too many local villagers into their custody for investigation, while the injured cops were shifted to a Gambat hospital for medico-legal formalities.
