SWABI: The academicians, doctors and local elders of Naro Killay in a jirga on Sunday announced the establishment of a welfare society to work for the promotion of education and provision of health facilities in the area and guide the youths to excel in their respective fields.
Held at the hujra (male guest-house) of Mirazam Sher Kaka, the jirga was attended by its members, doctors, engineers and others. Dr Nasir Ali was chosen as founding president, Dr Tariq Hussain, general secretary, Haseeb Shehzad, deputy general secretary and Raziq Sher alias Ameer Sahib as finance secretary.
Qaisar Khan, Rehman Sher, Raziq Sher and Muqaddam Khan were also entrusted with the responsibility to guide the office-bearers and members of the society to achieve the desired objectives.
Mirazam Sher Kaka, Sher Ali Khan and others supported the establishment of the Naro Educational Welfare Society (News) and pledged to extend all out support for education and helping the locals in getting medical treatment facilities.
It was unanimously decided that the society would work only for the education and health facilities in the area.
The society, they said, would have no political objectives and none of its members would be allowed to use its platform for political purposes.
They said that their mission would be to enhance the students’ capabilities and provide them an environment to excel in their respective fields. The society would guide students, rehab drug addicts, empower youth, both boys and girls.
