‘Campaign under way to recover arrears from FDA City defaulters’

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Development Authority Director General Sohail Khawaja has said that a special campaign is underway to recover the arrears from the defaulters of the FDA City.

He told this while giving briefing to the parliamentarians and members of the FDA Board of Governors here on Sunday. The DG said that fast track measures were being taken to redress the issues of the housing scheme. He informed that more than Rs 1.59 billion were pending with the defaulter allottees and final notices had been served to the defaulters for immediate payment otherwise allotment of plots would be cancelled. He said that efforts had been mobilised to provide the electricity in the remaining blocks of the FDA City and this matter had been taken up with the Fesco for provision of electricity expeditiously. He requested the parliamentarians for extending cooperation to resolve the issue of electricity provision. The Director General said that the water supply and sewage systems would be made functional immediate after energizing the projects. He informed that multidimensional measures had been taken to raise the quality of services of the FDA and the Wasa. He said that operation against the unapproved housing schemes was being carried out without any discrimination.

The DG maintained that the Clean and Green Pakistan Programme was being followed in letter and spirit and target had been fixed to plant 100,000 saplings during the tree plantation

campaign. Parliamentarians Sh Khurram Shahzad, Nawab Sher Waseer, Mian Waris Aziz and Firdous Rai attended the briefing session and appreciated the efforts of the FDA DG for improving the department’s performance.
