FBR chief assures resolving tax issue: Jilani

SIALKOT: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) president Fazal Jilani Thursday said the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman had assured resolving the eight per cent turnover tax issue within a week by holding a meeting with their representatives.
In a statement, he welcomed the FBR gesture, saying that the strike of the cargo agents had caused an immense financial loss to exporters.
He called for resolving the issue as soon as possible for smooth business activities.
He expressed hope that the government would positively consider the genuine demands of the traders in connection with withdrawing the decision of imposing the turnover tax.
