PESHAWAR: The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) participated at the ‘FITUR Spain’ show to boost tourism and promote soft image of Pakistan. The TCKP is participating in the five-day show as per Prime Minister Imran Khan and Minister for Tourism, KP, Muhammad Atif Khan’s commitment to boost tourism by attracting more and more tourists to Pakistan and promote soft image of the country worldwide, said a press release.
TCKP Managing Director Junaid Khan briefed the visitors at the stall installed by the KP Tourism Department about the projects and facilities being undertaken by provincial government for the promotion of the tourism sector. Pakistan Ambassador to Spain Khayam Akbar visited the stalls and praised the organisers for the endeavours to promote tourism and soft image of the country.
Junaid Khan said that 2020 has been declared as the year of tourism in Pakistan for which many projects have been launched to boost the sector. He said there is an immense growth and investment potential in tourism sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Our main objective is to attract larger number of foreign tourists to the country and to explore the most scenic province internationally," he added.
“Our province is a peaceful destination for foreigners and is blessed with exotic valleys and unique rich culture and tradition,” said the official.
FITUR, being one of the main events for the tourism industry worldwide and the leading trade show, is already working on configuring a top-level business space, with the best tools, to allow professionals from the world of tourism to successfully confront the challenges the industry presents at this time.
