DUBAI: Diplomat Business Club President and former ambassador Javed Malik has said that there is growing interest in international tourists to visit Pakistan particularly the picturesque region of Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to a press release, he was speaking at a roundtable organized by him to welcome the Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman who is on a visit to UAE in which international tour operators and businessmen associated with tourism and hotel industry held meetings with the chief minister.
The businessmen were briefed about the tourism potential of Gilgit-Baltistan as well as the investment opportunities in the hydro-power and mining sector. The chief minister assured the businessmen that the government welcomes foreign investment and would facilitate the business community. Ambassador Javed Malik highlighted that Gilgit-Baltistan is the entry point for China Pakistan Economic Corridor and this makes it an important region with ample opportunities for the smart investor and it was agreed to formulate a delegation of overseas Pakistani businessmen to visit the region in the coming months. The chief minister also met overseas Pakistani community in UAE and appreciated the role being played by the overseas Pakistanis.
