SHC admits petition against encroached land of graveyards
SUKKUR: The Sindh High Court Sukkur Bench, has set January 29 for hearing the petition against the encroachment of graveyards across Sindh.
Advocate Sohail Lateef Memon had filed a petition in SHC Sukkur maintaining that Rohri city graveyard was being encroached by land grabbers. He said it was a constitutional responsibility of the officials to remove encroachments from the graveyard. The advocate pointed out that the garbage was being thrown by the municipal staff, while sewage has inundated in the graveyard. He alleged the land grabbers wanted to build commercial plazas on the graveyards.
Admitting the petition, the Sindh High Court Sukkur notified chief secretary Sindh, divisional commissioner Sukkur, deputy commissioner Sukkur, assistant commissioner Rohri, chairman municipal committee Rohri, Mukhtiarkar Rohri to file their response. The next hearing will now be held on January 29.
