This letter refers to the editorial ‘PIA affairs’ (Jan 23, 2020). The editorial has rightly highlighted the decay of PIA, once the pride of the nation with its famous slogan ‘Great people to fly with.’ Fares, quality of service and in-flight facilities are much below the desired standard, while complaints made are never addressed.
Pakistan as a whole is suffering on account of bad governance, PIA is no exception. As long as we don’t get rid of political influence in the selection of top executives at state institutions things will never improve.
