This letter refers to the story ‘China rejects US interference in CPEC, ties with Pakistan’ (Jan 23, 2020). The Chinese government directed a strongly-worded statement towards the US about its hostility towards China’s closer economic and political ties with Pakistan. President Trump calls PM Imran Khan his friend but he behaves like a foe. Trump is a huge supporter of India and has not denounced India’s annexation of IOK nor its anti-Muslim policies. Conversely, he has blocked aid to Pakistan and held up the Coalition Support Funds.
PM Imran Khan must not count on US support as the US desires puppet leaders whom it can manipulate. We have suffered immensely by compromising our economic and political sovereignty in the past.
