LAHORE: On the second day of the National Junior Badminton Championships quarterfinal and semifinals finals were decided. In the boys U-14 singles M. Hashir Shah (KP) and Kashif Malik of Punjab reached the final.
In boys singles U-16 Saad Amir of Punjab and Rai Abdul Mannan Punjab also made into final.
In girls U-16 Sumiya Tariq of Army and Musfira Zahid Sindh reached the finals.
In boys single U-18 Omer Jahangir of KP and Raja Hassan of Army qualified for the finals. In the girls U-18 singles Umama Usman of Sindh and Hadiqa Punjab reached the finals.
Results: Boys single U-14 semifinals: M Hashir Shah (KP) beat Basim Abdullah (Islamabad) by 21-15, 21-8; Malik Kashif (Punjab) beat Taimoor Khan (KP) by 21-8, 18-21, 21-15.
Boy singles U-18 semfinals: Umer Jahangir (KP) beat Raza Ali (Punjab) by 21-14, 10-21, 21-17; Raja Hassan (Army) beat Ahmad Asif (Punjab) by 21-14, 9-21, 21-15.
Girls singles U-18 semifinals: Omama Usman (Sindh) beat Aqsa (Balochistan) by 21-7, 21-19; Hadiqa (Punjab) beat Maria (Balochistan) by 21-6, 21-11.
