JHANG: The DC by assigning the monitoring duty of official wheat supply to flour mills and their production to the officials of district administration has succeeded in ensuring the smooth free supply of flour bags of 20kg at Rs 805 across the district.
The situation of flour supply at fixed price is quite different from other districts as 22 flour mills were being provided official stocks of wheat on daily basis. Sources disclosed that the production of flour bags of three mills was sufficient for whole population of the district.
They pointed out that because of the alleged cooperation of local Food Department officials with the millers artificial shortage of flour was created last week by selling maximum flour production out of the district and the province to get more profit.
Taking notice of the artificial shortage and the one-sided reports of local Food Department officials, the DC had assigned the monitoring duties of girdavars and naib tehsildars to monitor the production and sale of the flour mills in local markets.
