Govt failed to come up to people’s expectations: PPP leader
TAKHTBHAI: Member of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) central executive committee Rahimdad Khan has said that the government had miserably failed to come up to the expectations of people.
Speaking to media at the press club on Sunday, he said that those claiming to bring change in lives of people within the first 90 days of their government had brought the country to the verge of bankruptcy.
He said that everyone was frustrated due to the flawed policies of the government while the rulers were still making tall claims of bringing prosperity to the lives of people. Regarding the flour crisis, he said the government was distributing subsidised flour among people, adding that the quality of the flour was too substandard to be eaten by cattle, let alone its use by people.
“The ministers are completely unaware of the basics of politics as they are unable to comprehend the nature of problems and solve them,” he said. He said that a civil-war like situation could arise in the country as the nation was being made ‘beggar’ and befooled in the name of ‘lunger khana’ and ‘poultry’ schemes. The former minister said the PPP had rendered sacrifices for strengthening democratic process in the country and welfare of the people.
“The conspiracies being hatched by the government to malign the PPP would end up in smoke,” he maintained. He said that people were in no position to tolerate the price hike and uncertainty in the country and it’s better for the government to step down in the larger interest of the nation.
