Govt urged to probe road project in Lakki
LAKKI MARWAT: The residents of Baistkhel village on Sunday asked the provincial government to probe into use of substandard material in the construction of a link road.
Speaking to reporters after a jirga, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam activist Qari Zardad Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf tehsil president Kamal Ahmed, Jamaat-i-Islami activist Younas Khan, Awami National Party activist Gul Fayyaz Khan and Rafique Khan said that a two kilometer long link-road to their village was constructed by the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Serai Naurang, adding, Rs20 million had been allocated by the JUI-F lawmaker Anwar Hayat Khan through his development fund.
“The condition of the road clearly indicates that the materials used in its construction were substandard as it has been broken at various places,” Kamal Ahmed said. They said that they had brought the issue to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner, Jehangir Azam Wazir, time and again but nothing had been rendered so far.
