Strike against 8pc services tax From Our Correspondent SIALKOT: Hundreds of the members of Air Cargo Agents Association of Pakistan (ACAAP), Pakistan Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA) and Custom House Agents Group (CHAG) Tuesday observed a strike against 8 per cent services tax on annual turnover. The workers also launched a peaceful protest rally from the ACAAP office. When the rally reached at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) its president Fazal Jilani and others also joined it and moved towards the local FBR office where a joint delegation of protesters submitted a resolution to the Income Tax Commissioner. Later, on at the Sialkot Dry Port Trust, the SCCI chief, Senior Vice Chairman ACAAP Irfan Younas, EC Member ACAAP Muhammad Yusuf, Amjad Fakhri, Rana Sohail and others addressed the protesters and vowed launching an indefinite strike against the services tax and 16 percent sales implemented by the Punjab Revenue Authority until their demands were met. They said during the strike no single import or export shipment would be entertained. They expressed grave concern as no government official had contacted them to resolve the issue.
