CHITRAL: The members of the District Bar Association Chitral on Friday asked Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa to take action against those who did not airlift an ailing lawyer, who had suffered brain haemorrhage.
Speaking at a press conference at the Chitral Press Club, District Bar Association Chitral President Khursheed Hussain Mughal, Chairman Human Rights Foundation, Niaz A. Niazi, former president of the association Sajidullah and others said that senior lawyer Ghulam Hazrat Inqilabi had suffered brain haemorrhage and was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Chitral.
They said that the lawyer could not be shifted to a hospital in Peshawar due to the closure of the Lowari Tunnel due heavy snowfall.
The lawyers said that a military helicopter had brought the body of a martyred soldier to Chitral from Peshawar so the request was made to transport the ailing Ghulam Hazrat Inqilabi to the provincial capital for treatment but the plea fell on deaf ears.
Reports indicate that they tried to breach one of gates, harassed staff, and even scaled walls of premises
