MURREE: Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Murree daily dumps tons of filthy waste/garbage in lush green forests of Kuldanna on main Kashmir-Islamabad road, which causing serious threat to environment and defacing the beauty of Murree hills.
Murree is supposed to be the pollution-free hill station with natural environment and beauty, but the arrangements to dump waste by the local municipal authority is surprising who have chosen the centre of the hill station for this purpose.
The unbearable malodorous atmosphere due to this garbage dumping even forces the motorists to close windows of their vehicles because of this stink and disgusting smell, which could be felt in the vehicles about one kilometre radius speaks the negligence of local administration to make Murree neat and clean for which a budget of Rs120 million has been allocated in current fiscal year.
The people of the area while talking about the stink said that walking from this area is almost impossible, which is also causing dangerous diseases in locals but no one is paying any heed to this situation. The other dangerous aspect of this waste dumping is that it resulted in accelerating the breeding of wild pigs in the area and one can see hundreds of pigs flocks in the forests and crossing the roads and also on by foot walking tracks of nearby villages in the vicinity.
