Two incidents of suspected suicides were reported on Thursday. According to police, an elderly woman was found dead in a residential building located within the limits of Eidgah police station. As rescuers were called in, they moved the body to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.
Police said the woman was identified as 65-year-old Asma, wife of Dilshad.
According to SHO Nadeem Haider, an initial investigation suggests that the woman was a special person who apparently ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan.
The police official said the woman was alone at home when she allegedly ended her life as her husband and children had left for work.
In another incident, police found the body of a teenage girl in a house located near Gora Qabristan, within the jurisdiction of Saddar police station. The girl was identified as Maryam, daughter of Amin. Police said the girl apparently ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan.
