RAWALPINDI: On the directions of Secretary Water and Power Inspection Team, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) on Wednesday has caught a fraudster who looted public on installing new electricity and gas connections.
The looter named Muhammad Sabir showed himself an Iesco officer taking big amount from public to install new connections of electricity and gas in this regard.
Secretary Water and Power Inspection Team has directed Iesco officials to catch a fraudster named Muhammad Sabir who was installing bogus metres in different localities. During checking, inspection team found out bogus metres here at Punjab Housing Scheme at Adiala Road. The inspection team also found out several bogus metres including Meter No4549992 and Meter No4557435 etc.
Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Adiala Abdul Hameed told ‘The News’ that they have caught the fraudster who showed himself an Iesco officer involved in electricity theft, bogus meters and other illegal works. He was also taking big amount from public for installing gas connections as well. He said application was filed with the Police Station Saddar Barooni for registering FIR against him.
