RAWALPINDI: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abrar Hussain Nekokara committed suicide at the Police Training School (PTS) under mysterious circumstances on Monday evening.
City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Mohammad Ehsen Younas confirmed the suicide, saying that a suicide note has been found from the crime scene. He said the crime scene has been protected and evidence has been collected. A gun was used in suicide, the sources said, adding that it couldn’t be determined whether it was his personal or official gun.
Senior police officers led by CPO Rawalpindi rushed to the scene upon getting information regarding the incident. A team of Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) experts reached the spot and collected evidence. The CPO Rawalpindi said the body has been shifted to hospital for post mortem, adding that the final opinion about the suicide could be ascertained after the autopsy report.
Commandant Police Training College, Additional IG Tariq Yaseen said the cause of death could not be determined before post mortem report. He said SSP Abrar Hussain Nekokara was living with his family in the premises of the PTS. Nekokara has served as CTO Faisalabad and DPO Khoshab. He belonged to Barsa Shaikh, outskirts of Chiniot. He was the real brother of General Secretary District Bar Association Chiniot Irfan Nekokara. Family sources claimed the SSP committed suicide over family dispute.
