British HC calls on Pervaiz Elahi, Moonis Elahi
LAHORE: British High Commissioner Dr Christian Turner and DFID Lahore Chief Jinal Shah called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Pervaiz Elahi and MNA Moonis Elahi at their residence and exchanged views about prevailing political situation in the country here on Monday.
Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that Britain and Pakistan always have good and pleasant relations and there is a need for further promoting mutual trade and peoples contact campaign. Views were also exchanged on this occasion for improving environment, ending smog and evolving strategy for making atmosphere man friendly in Punjab.
Dr Christian Turner presented memorial shield to the speaker on his first visit to Lahore and expressing gratitude to Ch Pervaiz Elahi and Moonis Elahi said ‘your family has very important role in politics of Pakistan, Pakistan is very beautiful and peaceful country, culture of Lahore has won my heart’.
