Secretary of district bar association’s club suspended
MANSEHRA: The district bar association suspended its secretary club and said it would not allow immoral and unlawful activities on its premises.
The suspension came in the wake of the police raid on the Mansehra District Bar Association’s club during which over 250 bottles of liquor were seized a day earlier.
“Through a unanimously adopted resolution the basic membership of secretary club has been suspended and the president of the bar association empowered to check illegal and immoral activities at the club,” Fahad Habib Tanoli, the secretary general of bar association, told reporters on Sunday.
He said that a meeting of the general body of the district bar association was summoned following the raid on the club of the bar association.
“We have also adopted legal formalities for the permanent termination of the basic membership of secretary club, who was also nominated in the first information report lodged with the City Police Station,” Tanoli said.
