Punjab ACE recovered Rs100 bn last year
LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Punjab, has issued its performance report for the year 2019.
According to the report, the ACE made historic recovery of Rs100.74billion last year. Out of this amount, Rs1567.17 million were direct recovery, Rs96727.48 million were recovered under the head of land recovery and Rs2449.06 million under the head of indirect recovery.
According to the report, the ACE received 22,940 complaints in 2019 and it addressed 21,950 complaints, including previous ones.
Similarly, it held 5,238 inquiries, gave decision on 4,828 ongoing inquiries and registered 1,340 cases. The ACE decided 1,518 ongoing cases, submitted 869 challans in courts, conducted 254 raids and arrested 1,597 accused.
Forty-eight court absconders and 312 proclaimed offenders were arrested. Expressing his views on the annual report, ACE DG Muhammad Gohar Nafees said the department was struggling for to make Punjab a corruption-free province in the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar according the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He directed all the officers to adopt zero-tolerance policy against the corrupt elements and take action against them without any discrimination. He also appealed to the public to identify the corrupt elements and report them on the app developed for the purpose.
