ISLAMABAD: Inter-Board boys hockey competition is in full swing as Peshawar, Malakand and Faisalabad earned wins against their opponent board teams at the Bunda Ground Sunday.
Yasir scored three goals as Peshawar got better of Abbottabad 7-1. Tawheed, Saleem, Ismail and Ather also netted a goal each. Ariyan, Aliyan and Yasir managed a goal each as Malakand got better of Saiwal 3-0. Mohammad Ali and Baqar scored a brace as Faisalabad blanked Rawalpindi 4-0 in the third match of the day. In Athletics Lahore's Owais took first position in high jump. Shazal (Faisalabad) finished second and Dian Shahid (Islamabad) had to content with bronze.
Absar (Lahore) scooped up first position in javelin throw. Lahore's Sagar and Usman took second and third positions respectively. Swat defeated Faisalabad 2-0 in the table tennis event. Peshawar defeated Secondary Education Board Karachi 2-0 and later defeated Lahore board with the same margin. BIE Karachi got better of Rawalpindi 2-1.
Peshawar got better of Lahore 2-0 in badminton in badminton event that also saw Malakand getting better of Mardan 2-0 in the second match. Sahiwal beat Larkana 2-0. Professor Muhammad Yousuf Baloch, Chairman of the Inter Board Sports Committee and Balochistan Education Board distributed medals among the winners.
