PESHAWAR: Police have arrested four persons, including a woman, in the murder of Parvinder Singh, a Sikh youth, whose body was found in Chamkani locality a few days ago.
Investigators said the fiancée of the deceased was behind the murder who did not want to marry him and paid money to the assassins.
The two had developed some disputes recently. The wedding was scheduled for January 28.
Police said the money paid to the assassins was the amount that the deceased used to send his fiancée Prem Kumari from abroad. Parvinder Singh was working in Malaysia and had come for his wedding scheduled in February. Belonging to Chakesar town in Shangla, the body of Parvinder Singh was found in Chamkani late Saturday night.
“He was called by the fiancée to Mardan where he was shot dead and later his body shifted to Peshawar. Four people, including Prem Kumari, have been arrested,” said the police.
Family of Singh complained not a single representative of the federal or provincial government either visited them or bothered to call them to condole the death.
