Oil tanker overturns

MULTAN: An oil tanker overturned on Jhang Road near Lungar Saraey, resulting spilling of 6,000 litres oil, rescuers said. The incident happened due to high intensity fog which reduced visibility remarkably early on Friday morning. Rescue-1122 Muzaffargarh section cordoned off the entire area. No big loss or causality was reported.

Police, public coordination being ensured: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Waseem Ahmed Khan Friday said police and public coordination was being ensured through community policing. Addressing a Friday prayers gathering at Jamia Masjid Bilal here on Friday, he said open courts were being organised at police station level to resolve public complaints at their doorstep to restore public trust in the police department. He said tight security arrangements were being ensured at mosques, markets, educational institutes and other places. He urged citizens to cooperate with police to make a crime-free society. He directed police officers to focus on social issues of their respective areas. SP Ahmed Nawaz Shah, DSP Tahir Majeed and other senior officers were also present on this occasion.

372 notices issued for throwing garbage on roads: Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) on Friday issued 372 notices for throwing garbage in streets and on roads. Chief Executive Officer MWMC Nasir Shahzad Dogar said that the company task force was raiding daily in the city. He urged the citizens to cooperate with company to improve cleanliness system in city, adding that cleanliness of city was continuous process and delay in this could not be tolerated. He said they had conducted meeting on daily basis to review performance.
