Inauguration of Azakhel Dry Port today
NOWSHERA: Federal Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said here on Thursday that Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate Azakhel Pirpiai Dry Port today (Friday). The dry port is spread over 28 acres of land and developed at a cost of Rs510 million. It would be expanded to 64 acres with passage of time. The federal minister reached Nowshera to finalise the arrangements for the inaugural ceremony. Deputy Superintendent of Railways, Peshawar, Fayyaz Khan, MD Railcar Syed Munawwar Shah, and Chief Traffic Officer Pakistan Railways Haroonur Rasheed briefed the minister on the arrangements. The prime minister would inaugurate the first Afghan Transit Trade container train and later dry port. He will also address a public meeting. The dry port is expected to help promote business and trade activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
