Kidnapped medical student recovered
BANNU: A medical student, who was kidnapped six months ago from Nurar area of the district, was recovered on Thursday. Unidentified gunmen had stormed the house of Afrasiyab, a medical student, in Nurar area and kidnapped Afrasiyab. One person was killed and another injured in the attack. The locals and police held several jirga for the safe recovery of the student.
DPO Yasir Afridi said that the safe recovery of the student was made due to the joint efforts by the police and jirga elders headed by Malik Hayatullah Khan. He said that the police had been monitoring the movement of the kidnappers who were trying to take the student across the border in Afghanistan. The official said that 14 suspects involved in the kidnapping of student had already been arrested.
