HARIPUR: A woman was allegedly raped by a man in the jurisdiction of Kotnajibullah Police Station, police said on Wednesday. The accused was arrested and handed over to the police for two-day physical remand.
According to the cops of the Kotnajibullah Police Station, S Bibi of Mohallah Muqadaman Kotnajibullah village has been living alone at her parents’ home after getting a divorce from her husband. She was at home and busy in cooking food when one Muhammad Sajid, a resident of sector No 1 Kangra Colony, forcibly entered her home, dragged her in one of the rooms and raped her at gunpoint.
On the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case against the accused under section 376, 452 and 506 of the PPC. Meanwhile, the police arrested the accused and obtained his two-day physical remand from the court of a judicial magistrate.
