A sub-inspector reported to have been kidnapped under mysterious circumstance a day earlier, reached home on Sunday evening after having been robbed off his phone and other valuables.
It was reported on Sunday morning, at the Preedy police station, that SI Abdul Sattar, resident of Hijrat Colony, had been kidnapped.
According to Sattar’s family, they had called to know of his whereabouts when he failed to show up at his house after duty hours, however, they were directed to reach the Regal Electronic Market by a stranger who had answered his phone.
Unable to locate him at the market, the family further told that his phone was switched off right after they received another call after a short while informing them that Sattar had been kidnapped.
However, according to SSP South Dr Farooq, the SI in his statement informed the police that he had left for the mobile market to get his phone repaired but stopped at a tea stall where he fell unconscious after eating a biscuit.
He regained consciousness a day later where he found himself lying on a bench nearby with his phone and cash missing.
