Rawalpindi: On the directions of Punjab government, the local management has extended winter vacation due to severe weather. All private and public schools in Rawalpindi will reopen on January 13.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Saifullah Dogar has issued directives to all private and public schools in this regard. He has ordered to close all private and public schools till January 12.
On the other hand, Deputy Director (Colleges) Rawalpindi Javed Satti has confirmed that School Education Department (SED) Punjab has issued a notification to close down all private and public schools till January 11. But colleges will remain open till issuance of notification, he said. All colleges in Rawalpindi Division will remain open. If higher authority issued any notification regarding extension of winter holidays of colleges we will follow it otherwise not. Only schools will remain close till January 13 but not colleges, he said. The City District Government spokesman Shahid Shah told ‘The News’ that in the wake of weather conditions, the winter vacation are hereby extended with effect from Jan 7, 2020 to Jan 12, 2020 in all public and private schools.
