2 dacoits killed in ‘encounter’ in Kasur

KASUR: Two dacoits were killed during an encounter with police near Dollaywala village in the limits of Sadar police here on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference here, DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi told that during routine patrolling, Sadar police received information that two dacoits looted cash and other valuables from a man on Depalpur Road. He said that the police rushed to the spot and started chasing the dacoits who were on their three bikes. On seeing the police, the dacoits opened fire at the police party, which was retaliated, he added. After a brief encounter, two dacoits, who were later identified as Riaz Kumhar, who was wanted in 42 cases of dacoity and robbery cases, and Riasat Kumhar, the brother of Riaz Kumhar, who was wanted in 26 different cases, the DPO informed. He said that their two accomplices managed to flee. The DPO claimed that the dacoits were killed by the firing of their own accomplices. The police also recovered snatched motorcycles and illicit weapons, the DPO added.

KASUR: A woman and her daughter were shot dead for ‘honour’ at Badth Kalan village in the limits of Serai Mughal police on Saturday.
Sajida Bibi had contracted love marriage with Imran Javed one year ago, which had infuriated her family. On the day of the incident, accused Sardar and Ghulam Nabi, cousins of Sajida Bibi, entered the house of Shamim Bibi, mother of Sajida Bibi, and allegedly shot both Sajida Bibi and Shamim Bibi dead.
