KARACHI: AB Solar Park (Pvt) Ltd has approached National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) seeking generation license for a 20MW power plant proposed to be setup in Attock at a cost of $12 million.
AASAL Solar Power (Pvt) Ltd, which owns another 49.5MW solar power project in DG Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, initiated the park, a statement said on Monday. “The park is based on the concept of captive/wheeling power plant. Pakistan has many captive power projects now, however a project specifically designed on wheeling basis, would be the first of its kind,” it added. The project would generate 20MW, and that energy would be wheeled through the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) network to be distributed to bulk consumers.
