CM pays surprise visit to Sargodha
SARGODHA: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar paid a surprise visit to Sargodha and reviewed cleanliness arrangements and sanitation situation of the city.
The chief minister checked city roads and different areas and reviewed the cleanliness arrangements.
Later, the chief minister presided over a meeting at Circuit House. The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Human Resources and Development Ansar Majeed Niazi, MNAs Ch Amir Sultan Cheema, Malik Amjad Khan Niazi, MPAs Ch Faisal Farooq Cheema, Iftikhar Hussain Gondal, Malik Aminullah Khan and Hassan Inam Piracha, former ticket holder Dr Nadia Aziz, Ansar Iqbal Haral, Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar and other officers.
The public representatives briefed the chief minister about the public issues regarding setting up of Trauma Centre, West Management Company, underpasses, construction of Lahore Road, provision of clean drinking water and sewerage system in the city.
To it, CM Usman Buzdar ordered the deputy commissioner to send him all the public demands in writing.
‘Govt promoting anti-traditional steps at grassroots level’: Provincial Minister for Human Resources and Development Ansar Majeed Niazi has said that the government is promoting anti-traditional steps at the grassroots level for progress and prosperity of the country.
Talking to different delegations at PTI Secretariat here on Sunday, he said that like the federal government, the Punjab government would also excel in the economic development, adding that the year 2020 would be the year of elimination of poverty and unemployment whereas the general public would get fruits of economic progress.
The minister said that the Punjab had taken off from the launching pad of development, adding
that the government was making 10 special economic zones in the province.
Ansar Majeed said that three technical universities would be set up in the province whereas industrial estates would be set up in different cities, he said and added that the prime minister would inaugurate the Quaid-e-Azam Park in March.
542 accused arrested: Sargodha police have arrested 542 accused, including 140 proclaimed offenders, and recovered over 84.5 kilograms narcotics and 232 weapons from them during the month of December 2019.
A police spokesman said that the police squads during the operation against drug pushers registered total 176 cases against drug pushers and recovered over 83 kilograms hashish, 1,595 grams heroin and 2,445 bottles of liquors along with seven distilleries from them.
During the operation against the proclaimed offenders, the police arrested 140 proclaimed offenders involved in murder, robbery, theft and other crimes.
Similarly, during the drive against criminals and display of legal and illegal weapons, the police teams arrested 226 people and recovered 17 Kalashnikovs, 26 rifles, 45 guns, 142 pistols, two revolvers and hundreds of cartridges and bullets from them. The police also conducted 82 search operations during the same period.
