ISLAMABAD: Mohammad Hamza Khan stormed into the final of the British Junior Squash taming Egyptian Yassin Shohdy in straight games in the under-15 category semi-finals played in Birmingham (UK) Sunday.
Hamza who has yet to drop a single game in the event beat Egyptian 11-5, 11-8, 11-7. Once Shohdy saw himself failing to control the game he was resorted to foul play and was warned three times by the referee that also included conduct and racket abuse warnings.
There was no stopping Hamza in the first game which saw him dictating from the word go. The second game was a bit closer as Shohdy reduced the gap and was at 7-6 at one stage.
However, Hamza kept up his confidence and was seen getting the better of his opponent easily at the end. Hamza stormed to 7-1 lead in the third when Shohdy played some entertaining squash to plug the gap at 7-6 and then 8-7. Couple of misses by the Egyptian gave Hamza easy opportunity to close the match which he did with a drop shot.
Hamza will play UK player Yousuf Sheikh in a title battle. Yousuf beat another Pakistan player Mohammad Ammad 11-9, 11-6, 11-7 in the second semis.
