Citizens robbed of valuables in looting spree

GUJRANWALA: Bandits and thieves deprived the locals of cash and valuables in different areas of Gujranwala on Friday.
At Noshera Virkan three robbers intercepted Sharafat and his wife and snatched Rs 20,000, gold ornaments and two mobile phones.
In Ahmed Nagar Chatha area, two dacoits snatched two tola gold, Rs 13,000.
Two robbers snatched Rs 27,000, gold ornaments and a mobile phone from Samad in the limits of Wahndo police station.
In Sadar police area, two robbers snatched Rs 40,000 and two mobile phones from Jahangir.
At Tatley Waley locality dacoits deprived Murad and his wife of Rs 29,000 and gold ornaments.
In Sohdra locality three bandits snatched Rs 32,000 and a mobile phone from Kamran.
Robbers deprived Umair of his motorcycle in Gakhar Mandi, Siddique of his new motorcycle and Abdul Rauf of his car.
Thieves stole new motorcycle of Mushtaq from the Model Town area, motorcycle of Ashir from the civil lines area, motorcycle No STN-5451 of Ashiq Habib in the Jinnah road area and motorcycle of Mansoor from outside National Bank, Cantonment branch.
Thieves took away valauables from the house of Zaheer in the Wanya Wala locality.
PROTEST AGAINST INFLATED POWER BILLS:
The activists of Shabab-e-Mili, Gujranwala, staged a protest demonstration against Gepco officers for issuing inflated bills.
The demonstration was led by Bilal Qudrat Butt and hundreds of citizens participated in the protest. The protesters raised slogans against the government and the Federal Minister for Water and Power and the Gepco officers.
They blocked traffic for more than one hour and burnt electricity bills. They criticized the relevant authorities for issuing them inflated electricity bills.
